Water leak becomes a great reason to update bathroom, ensuite & powder room
Highbury multiple bathroom renovation
Water damage to a family bathroom became a great reason to update the entire room as well as the client’s ensuite and powder room. They asked InterConstruct to renovate every bathroom in a staged approach so the family could continue to live in their home during the renovations.
Main Bathroom
The initial brief was to repair all the damage the water leak had caused. This included replacing rotten timber framing. Then the main bathroom was renovated using the existing layout. The original, classic fixtures in this bathroom were in excellent condition and were reused.
Ensuite & Powder Room
Once completed, InterConstruct began working on the client’s ensuite and powder room. This included redesigning the ensuite to accommodate a freestanding bath. We then sourced the same fixtures and tiles used in the main bathroom to renovate the ensuite and powder room to create a cohesive look for the client.

What a bonus! Repurposing hallway creates a larger ensuite and WIR
West Lakes ensuite renovation
The client wanted a bigger ensuite and dreamed of a walk-in robe but they wanted to avoid doing an extension. So they asked InterConstruct to show them what was possible.
- By claiming part of a large entrance hallway, the client could achieve their dream wardrobe and expand their ensuite. Because of the home’s design, this could be achieved without compromising the entrance in any way.
- Repurposing the space created sufficient room to create a luxuriously sized walk-in shower with ledge
- Above the vanity, herringbone feature tiles add texture and interest
- Brushed nickel fixtures compliment the custom-made, wall-hung vanity with stone benchtop
- Underfloor heating was included in the ensuite to improve under foot comfort on frosty mornings
- The bedroom ceiling was raised to give the room a sense of grandeur and luxury
- A skylight was added to brighten the room
- The walk-in robe has given the client more than enough space for all their clothes, shoes and accessories

Penthouse bathroom and ensuite renovation creates a luxurious new look
Eastwood Penthouse bathroom and ensuite renovation
It was time to update both bathrooms in an Eastwood apartment so InterConstruct was engaged to assist the client’s interior designer bring the plans to life. The original footprint had to be retained but there was a lot of room for improvement including:
- Marble tiles and luxurious fixtures – including inwall toilets to make the bathroom and ensuite look more spacious
- Strip lighting was added to the custom shaving cabinets for a bright, modern look
- The original bathrooms had storage issues but these were overcome with wall-hung, custom-made vanities, shaving cabinets and a glass shelf that extends across the wall
- A ledge was added along the full length of the bath to provide room for décor items such as plants
- For a cohesive look, both the bathroom and ensuite share the same colour palette, fixtures and tiles

Maximising space in a family bathroom
Fairview Park bathroom renovation
The main bathroom was a nightmare for this Fairview Park family so they called InterConstruct for help. The results are astounding! Without increasing the size of the room, the InterConstruct team were able to change the entire appearance and functionality of the family bathroom by:
- Relocating the bath and shower to create a bathing zone complete with walk-in shower
- Elongating the appearance of the room and creating a feature by continuing the floor tiles up the wall behind the bath
- Installing a heated towel rail
- Providing ample storage using a wall-hung vanity and shaving cabinet
- Adding impact using trendy, matt black fixtures
