With a family of adult children and a love of cooking, InterConstruct completed a major kitchen extension and renovation which included:
- Removing walls to provide a large entertainers’ kitchen with open-plan living and dining
- Butler’s pantry hidden behind a feature wall with gorgeous penny round mosaic splashback tiles
- Island bench incorporating cupboards for extra storage as well as providing additional seating options
- Glass doors provide access to a beautiful alfresco entertaining area which gives the kitchen an abundance of natural light and the feeling of indoor/outdoor living
- Custom-made cabinetry with stone benchtops and large format floor tiles
Penthouse renovation brings kitchen into the 21st century
Eastwood penthouse kitchen renovation
A dated penthouse apartment needed a complete makeover to bring it into the 21st century and provide the owners with an entertainer’s kitchen. Working with the clients’ interior designer, InterConstruct totally transformed the kitchen within the constraints of the existing plumbing, layout and a major structural column.
The kitchen renovation included:
- Wrapping the existing structural column in stone and extending it to create a pantry
- A mirror panel in the pantry addition to reflect light and help the area look bigger
- A mirror splashback behind the main worktop area to reflect light and allow the owners to interact with guests while preparing meals
- New appliances, custom-made cabinetry and stone benchtops
- Changing the flooring throughout the penthouse to give the apartment a more streamlined and spacious look
Ageing galley kitchen transformed into ultra-modern open plan space
North Haven kitchen renovation
A dark and ageing galley kitchen was transformed with the help of the InterConstruct team. The new kitchen design and renovation included:
- Building a timber stud wall to remove the original doorway
- Removing one wall which divided the kitchen from the rest of the house
- A peninsula bench to extend the kitchen into the dining area and provide additional bar seating
- An island bench to provide additional preparation space
- Overhead cabinets extending to the ceiling for a sleek, modern look and abundant storage
- A black mirror splashback to contrast the white gloss finished custom cabinetry
- Stone benchtops with waterfall finish
- New flooring throughout and great lighting to make the kitchen a bright, inviting space

Norwood open-plan kitchen renovation
A larger, brighter and more modern kitchen was definitely on the menu for this Norwood family so they engaged InterConstruct. To achieve the new look, we:
- Removed an internal wall between the kitchen and lounge room to create a large open kitchen, dining and living area
- Installed a large skylight to provide additional light over the island bench
- Included different coloured cabinetry for the island bench and a waterfall finish
- Extended the cabinetry to the ceiling to provide much needed storage
- Added stone benchtops and stainless steel appliances

Adelaide kitchen remodel
Not all clients are after a complete kitchen renovation, and tailoring the scope of each project to their needs is essential. Our client adored her city apartment, but the original kitchen was small and our client desperately desired a bigger refrigerator. So she made her selection and asked us to design a new kitchen around her upgraded fridge. The client is absolutely thrilled with her new kitchen space, and the InterConstruct team is proud of the results too.
The Adelaide kitchen renovation included:
- A pull-out pantry to capitalise on the potential of the kitchen’s hidden storage capacity
- Additional bench space and drawers for improved useability
- A reorganised layout that makes the kitchen feel larger and more accommodating without altering the footprint or moving any plumbing or electricals
1900’s family home transformed for 21st century living
STEPNEY KITCHEN AND LAUNDRY RENOVATION
A dark ageing kitchen in need of a facelift and extra storage. Collaborating with the clients’ specific requests to keep the family homes history.
For this project, we transformed a 1900’s family home while keeping its architectural history and updating it with some of the creature comforts that comes with the 21st century living.
The renovation included:
- Custom made kitchen cabinetry in pale sage creating a light airy space that is warm and inviting with stone benchtops
- Removing the original door in the kitchen and replacing it with a window allowing natural light to flood through as well as creating additional kitchen storage
- A specific requirement was to preserve the original 1900’s wood stove and utilize it as a feature piece by giving it a small facelift by retiling using tiles with a modern take on vintage
- Creating a fully functional bar area nearby the kitchen which allows the client to interact with guests while preparing in the kitchen. Keeping the same pallet throughout
- Utilizing space when there is minimal by incorporating the laundry appliances behind pocket doors out of sight from unexpected visitors
- New appliances and high-end fixtures keeping within the era of the home

- The installation of custom cabinetry throughout the kitchen. This provided ample storage solutions while maintaining a seamless design
- Stunning Press Bronzo ceramic splashback tiles that complement the new cabinetry, exuding a sense of elegance
- New timber flooring throughout the kitchen. The selected material was painstakingly matched to the existing flooring, resulting in a unified design
